Q.1	Why did you name this website "Shonan Boy's Adventures"?
A.	When I was an elementary school student, I used to watch TV of "the adventure of Thomas Sawyer." I have thought I want to go to many places, and write some travel writings and useful trip informations. Because there are some kinds of travel informations on this website, I named it "Shonan Boy's Adventures." I hope it would be useful for you! (Edited on 1 July, 2002)

Does Shonan also include Yokosuka city? (Shonan Controversy)

Yes. But there are various theories. There are car license plates "Shonan". It does not include Yokosuka. It is "the 1st Shonan Controversy". At present, some statesmen of Kanagawa prefecture council said that "Yokosuka city, Kamakura city, Zushi city, Hayama town and Miura city should be Shonan city." On the contrary, some statesmen of Fujisawa city council did not agree it, and they said that "Fujisawa city, Chigasaki city, Hiratsuka city, Samukawa town, Ninomiya town should be Shonan city." They think only the cities near Enoshima is Shonan area (the 2nd Shonan Controversy).
In the Edo era, some literary men went to Hunan, China. They thought the view of lakes in Hunan was similar to Sagami bay (South shore of Kanagawa). So they named present Kanagawa "Shonan"(not all parts of Kanagawa). When Japanese people write Hunan in Kanji, they think the characters of Hunan are similar to Shonan.
In the past, North part of Kanagawa prefecture was named Shonan village (present Shiroyama town). When we look up the phone numbers in the telephone directory, Shonan edition of the one includes Yokosuka city. When it comes to the railway, then Shonan Electric Railways (present Keihin Electric Express railway Co., Ltd.:Keikyu in shortened word) was the lines "between Hinodecho (Yokohama city) and Uraga (Yokosuka city)", and "between Kanazawa-hakkei (Yokohama city) and Shonan-zushi" (Yokohama city is not a part of Shonan). Once it merged to Tokyu Corporation, and it was called Shonan line. Then Shonan hanto bus company (present Keikyu) ran the most part of Miura peninsula (Miura peninsula: Yokosuka city, Miura city, Hayama town, and Zushi city). So we do not know where is Shonan exactly. Although it will be "Shonan city" or not, Yokosuka must be a part of Shonan too. That 's why it is never strange for us to name this website "Shonan Boy's Adventures".

Q4.

Is this website for religion?

No. Regarding travel, we feel that the philosophy is also important. "JATA (Japan Association of Travel Agent) announced that "Travel is a passport of peace". In this website, we think that "All the people need the World Peace for travel". It is possible for all the people to travel there because of the World Peace . We should learn the philosophy to realize the World Peace. So we edited "Shonan Boy's Phisosophy" as it is very useful for philosophy.
However there are some ads on the pages of philosophy, we do not think we want to make much money. For your convenience, we edited it only. So visitors never lose money.
